My engagement with nature began as a teenager, working at the Australian Museum as an ornithological illustrator. Later, as a professional musician, I become intrigued by the way music and nature share an aesthetic of listening.
Sarah and I work as a team; she photographing whilst I sound record. I approach recording with a musician’s ear; listening for the organic pace and rhythms of the natural symphony, the diversity of voices to be heard, subtlety of sonic textures, acoustic of the landscape, and silence itself.
We’ve been fortunate to travel widely – its been a great adventure, and from this field work we have created an expansive catalogue of albums from most major continents. ”
